It's been a mad rush in order to get DOMOSOFA.COM
ready for the Les
Sables- Azores and back race, but with help from Dave
Parker on the laminating and a good deal of help from friends in
Penzance, GBR 500 finally rolled up in Les Sables with her new Heol
Composites rig.
The new rig looks great, and I feel so much more
confident with it compared to my last tube that snapped during the
Fastnet Race. DOMOSOFA.COM passed her stability test with the new
setup far more easily than the last time and will even enable me
to remove the stops that are placed on the canting keel system in
order to keep the boats heel within the 10 degree limit.
Another piece of great news that I'm proud to announce
is that the Shetland based Lerwick
Building Centre has joined forces with DOMOSOFA.COM and
myself to help with my campaign funding. Leslie Irvine is himself
a passionate sailor who I ended up completing part of the Shetland
Round Briton and Ireland race with aboard the yacht Jager. As well
as offering financial support for my campaign, Leslie has also lent
me his personal EPIRB after hearing the news of my dismasting on
the Fastnet race.
Tomorrow morning I set off on the single handed
Azores and back race, a new challenge in the mini circuit and one
that should prove to be a great transat training opportunity. You
can follow my progress clicking on

Cheers for now,
Woody
